About the Artist

Sheri Fox is a self-taught artist. She admits that she was a parent's nightmare as she would draw on anything that did not move. Sheri's mother played a pivotal role by covering the lower half of the walls with newsprint and providing the cherished art supplies.

Born in 1974 in Joliet, Illinois, Sheri traveled throughout most of the United States with her family. She graduated with honors from the Graphic Arts Technical Program at Alpena Community College in Michigan and spent the next seven years in the printing/advertising industry in Michigan, Hawaii and Florida.

After a long exile in the "real world", Sheri spotted an advertisement in the local newspaper for a painting workshop and encouraged her to attend. There she met the legendary landscape/wildlife painter, Richard Powers. With his contagious enthusiasm for the beauty of nature, his endless patience and by providing Sheri with the unique opportunity to meet and paint with such incredible artists as Robert Butler and many others, she has begun to bloom and fall in love with the art of drawing and painting all over again. Sheri also studied under the instruction of the international artist, Gary Gessford, at his studio in Mulberry, Florida.

Sheri is currently exploring the joy and wonder of pet portraiture. Pets are such an important part of our lives and she has taken on the challenge to provide many pet owners with portraits of their beloved animals that captures their personality and soul. She is also on a personal mission to help bring awareness though her art in an attempt to help the local animal shelters. There are so many precious animals that need a "furever" home, and they tend to make life so much more enjoyable.
